A little crazier in the Street Performer department than usual, at least for Seattle, was this guy wearing a suit made completely of mirror pieces. Check it out along with the shot of street musicians!

Cowgirls, but no aliens
On location again, this time in February with a raging rainstorm outside and fortunately inside a barn with a watertight roof. Even the horse cooperated! These were taken with 2 shoot-through umbrellas and 1 large silver reflector aimed upward. Aging and other effects added in post processing for that "old time look". Modeling courtesy of M. Chicks and Bikes - A classic topic revisited
Last week I was fortunate enough to have two separate photoshoots involving motorcycles, old cars, and the women who appreciate them. These shoots were done on location with portable off-camera strobes. The biggest trick is managing reflections off so many shiny surfaces (or at least making the reflections add to the shots). I occasionally put one of the strobes into the background to block out clutter and add drama. Much thanks to Kristy and Michael for their wonderful creative energy as well as their modeling!

Magazine Ads - How Did They Do That workshop
I attended a local club workshop where we took photos from magazines and tried to duplicate the lighting through experimentation. Here are some of my results. For you Seattle residents, the group that runs the workshops can be found here: http://www.meetup.com/photocoterie/. They have excellent hands-on labs and plenty of equipment to experiment with. If you go, tell Neil you heard about it here!
